Brigit: Dublin City Celebrating Women returns for a third year of city-wide celebrations from Thursday 1 – Monday 5 February 2024!
Brigit 2024 celebrates Imbolc and the Celtic goddess Brigit. In early Celtic times, this season was not only a time to mark the awakening of nature after the winter months, but a time for bringing new ideas and projects into the burgeoning light, for growing what we have been reflecting on through the previous season. Brigit was and still is associated with ideas of inspiration, healing, magic, smithcraft, wisdom, poetry, protection, fire, and the hearth.
These guiding concepts form the basis of our city-wide celebrations as we aim to shine a light on the lasting legacy of Brigit and the ways in which contemporary women embody the spirit of the goddess.
